The Nova Scotia Tartan, Rich in History

Known for its rich Scottish heritage, Nova Scotia (New Scotland at the time of the Loyalists) officially adopted its Tartan in 1955. Originally designed for the agricultural exhibition in Truro in 1953, the tartan reflects the important contribution of the Scots to the founding of Nova Scotia.

The colors of Nova Scotia are reflected in its tartan. Blue for the ocean, white for the surf, green for the forests, gold for the Royal Charter granted in 1621, and red for the Lion Rampant as seen in the Nova Scotia crest.

You will find many items in our store made with the Nova Scotia tartan. The following is a sample of what is available.
